About Us

Kara Hagblom is a graduate student at UNBC focusing on strength-based learning and advocacy strategies for neurodivergent learners and their families. She has over ten years of experience as an elementary resource and learning assistance teacher, currently teaching at a rural school in Prince George, BC. Kara is a proud parent of two teenagers, including a child with Autism. This study does not influence her teaching at Nukko Lake Elementary, and she has no influence on policy or practice for schools within the study.

Dr. Shendah Benoit is an assistant professor at UNBC’s School of Education with 25 years of K-12 teaching and leadership experience. Her research emphasizes inclusive and positive learning environments. Dr. Benoit is the mother of six children. This study does not influence her practicum supervision in SD No. 57, and she has no influence on policy or practice for schools within the study.
